It is also required to qualify for the fully vaccinated traveler's exemption from quarantine and testing. To enter or return to Canada as a fully vaccinated traveler, you must meet all of these requirements. Fully vaccinated travelers arriving from any country are not required to quarantine while waiting for the test result, if you are randomly selected for a mandatory proof of arrival. Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated 12-17 year olds must complete the 14-day quarantine and all testing requirements for pre-entry, arrival and day 8 testing, even when accompanied by travelers who qualify as fully vaccinated travelers.
As a fully vaccinated traveler, you can travel to your destination, even on connecting flights, without waiting for the results of the arrival tests (if selected for the test). These exemptions apply only to the child, not to parents, guardians or family members traveling together. Adults traveling with fully vaccinated children must upload proof of their child's vaccination to ArriveCan. If you have only received one dose of an accepted vaccine other than Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), you do not qualify for the fully vaccinated traveler exemption.
Dependents 18 years of age or older who are not vaccinated due to mental or physical limitations may enter Canada, but must meet all testing and quarantine requirements, even when their parent or accompanying guardian qualifies as a fully vaccinated traveler. Pre-entry testing is not required for fully vaccinated travelers entering Canada by land, air or water. If you are coming or returning to Canada without completing ArriveCan, you will not receive waivers for vaccinated travelers.
